Abstract
This chapter reviews the factors instructors need to consider in selecting texts for research methods teaching. It surveys texts from methods courses in masters and doctoral programs in the US and UK to evaluate methods requirements and the most common readings and approaches. A step-by-step plan for choosing texts for a course is then set out.
