Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

To evaluate evidence from randomised controlled trials (RCTs) for the efficacy of self‐help/guided self‐help for people with schizophrenia or related disorders, compared with waiting list or placebo/treatment as usual, other psychological or pharmacological treatments (or combinations/augmentations).

The secondary objectives are to evaluate evidence for the efficacy of self‐help/guided self‐help regarding comorbid symptomatology, functioning, possible harmful effects and costs.
