| PhD Topics | In my PhD I used the correspondence of the world's first queer activist, Karl Heinrich Ulrichs, to investigate the community of same-sex attracted men who used Ulrichs' terminology to call themselves 'Urnings'. I was able to discover the profound impact that this terminology and its associated parameters of identity had on the men and also establish the biographic details of some of these men.
